The Classical Music Concert Series “Technopolis 20 Classics” proudly announce its highly anticipated first concert of the new year featuring the exceptional pianist Vitaly Starikov. The concert is set to take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Markideio Theatre in Paphos, at 6pm.
The concert promises an enchanting evening of musical brilliance. Audiences can anticipate a captivating performance that reflects Vitaly Starikov's dedication, skill, and musicality, in a programme with works by J.S. Bach, F. Chopin, J. Haydn and F. Liszt.
The internationally acclaimed pianist Vitaly, born in 1995 in Russia, embarked on his musical journey at the age of three as a singer in a children's music group. His dedication to music led him to the Ural Music College in Yekaterinburg at the age of six, where he studied piano under the guidance of Alexandrina Gerlah and Prof. Sergey Beloglazov. This foundation paved the way for his enrolment at the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 2013, where he was mentored by the esteemed Prof. Vera Gornostayeva and Prof. Eliso Virsaladze.
Graduating with exceptional results in 2018, Starikov continued his musical education at the Accademia Internazionale di Imola “Incontri col Maestro” under the tutelage of Prof. Boris Petrushansky. Since September 2020, he has been pursuing his graduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory with Prof. Eliso Virsaladze, showcasing a relentless commitment to musical excellence.
Throughout his career, Vitaly Starikov has garnered international acclaim, winning prestigious competitions worldwide. Notable achievements include the 5th Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels (2021), 1st Prize at the 26th Epinal Piano Competition in France (2017), and Best performer of a contemporary piece at the 64th International Jaen Competition in Spain (2023).
Vitaly's exceptional talent has taken him to various corners of the globe, where he has performed solo recitals, chamber concerts, and concertos with orchestras. His collaborations with esteemed musicians and conductors, including Hugh Wolff, Frank Braley, and David Reiland, have further solidified his talent in the world of classical music.

A detailed biography of the performer
Vitaly Starikovwas born in 1995 in Russia. His musical journey started at the age of three when he joined a children's music group as a singer. At the age of six, he continued his education in music by enrolling in the Ural Music College in Yekaterinburg. There, he studied piano under the guidance of Alexandrina Gerlah from 2001 to 2005, and Prof. Sergey Beloglazov from 2005 until 2013.
In pursuit of his musical dreams, Vitaly went on to enroll at the Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 2013. During his time there, he studied with two renowned professors - Prof. Vera Gornostayeva from 2013 to 2015, and Prof. Eliso Virsaladze from 2015 to 2019. In 2018, Vitaly graduated from the conservatory, having completed his studies with exceptional results.
Driven by his passion for music, Vitaly continued his education at the Accademia Internazionale di Imola “Incontri col Maestro” from September 2019 until June 2020, where he had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Prof. Boris Petrushansky. Since September 2020, Vitaly has been pursuing his graduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory, once again studying with Prof. Eliso Virsaladze. In November 2022, Vitaly relocated to Israel.
Throughout his musical career, Vitaly has been recognized for his exceptional talent and has won several international competitions:
• 2021: 5th Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium.
• 2017: 1st Prize and Audience Prize at the 26th Epinal Piano Competition in Epinal, France.
• 2019: 1st Prize at the 5th International Piano Competition "Premio Roberto Melini" in Trento, Italy.
• 2023: Best performer of a contemporary piece at the 64th International Jaen Competition in Jaen, Spain.
• 2020: 3rd Prize at the 23rd International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize".
• 2008: 2nd Prize and Special Prize at the 7th Igumnov International Piano Competition in Lipetsk, Russia.
• 2011: 1st Prize at the 22nd International Music Competition "Citta di Barlletta" in Barlletta, Italy.
• 2014: Diploma of the Prize Winner at the 5th International Piano Competition "Minsk-2014" in Minsk, Belarus.
• 2017: 2nd Prizes and Special Prizes as part of a piano trio at the VI Taneyev International Competition of Chamber Ensembles in Kaluga, Russia.
• 2019: 2nd Prizes and Special Prizes as part of a piano trio at the 3rd All-Russian Competition of Chamber Ensembles in Moscow, Russia.
Vitaly has also participated in many other prestigious competitions, such as the Chopin Competition, the Cliburn Competition, and the Cleveland Competition. He was a finalist at the Busoni Competition in 2019 and at the Liszt Competition in Utrecht in 2022.
Vitaly's musical talents have taken him around the world, and he has performed in numerous countries including Russia, Austria, Slovakia, Israel, Cyprus, Italy, France, Belgium, and Malaysia. He has played in solo recitals, chamber concerts, and concertos with orchestras, working with esteemed musicians such as Yuna Ha, Leonid Zhelezny, Saverio Gabrielli, Ravil Islyamov, Oleg Gusev, Rustem Khamidullin, Roman Fillipov, Stefano Guarino, Mikhail Kalashnikov, Yevgeny Novikov and many others. Vitaly has collaborated with many conductors, including Hugh Wolff (Belgian National Orchestra), Frank Braley (Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie), Runi Calderon (Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy), David Reiland (Orchestre national de Metz), Alexander Titov (St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra), Piotr Nikiforov (Kislovodsk State Symphony Orchestra), Andrey Galanov (Minsk State Symphony Orchestra), Alexander Kantorov (St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra «CLASSICA»), and Alexey Vasilyev (St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra).
Apart from being a gifted pianist, Vitaly is also a committed student of music. Over the years, he has participated in various masterclasses and worked with renowned professors such as Dmitry Bashkirov, Dmitry Alexeev, Andrea Bonatta, and Leslie Howard.
