About the Event

A unique music event will be presented at Technopoliss 20, a Music put to Poetry night,  entitled “Because You Loved Me”, on Tuesday, March 26, at 8pm.

The two Cypriot and very talented Katerina Paraschou (singer) and Kyriakos Costa (pianist) will present this acoustic concert, with old and new pieces, covered for one voice and piano. 

Works of some of the most popular greek composers such as Hadjidakis, Theodorakis, Loizos, Spanos, Tokas, Lagios, Korkolis, Xydakis, Papadimitriou, Alagianni will be performed, along with orinigal works by Cypriot composers, such as: Giorgos Kalogirou, Panayiows Tsappis, Kyriakos Costa.

Together on stage will be Andrianos Charalambous, who he will narrate original text.

Songs that will be heard: Tin Porta Anoigo to Vradi, Poios ti zoi mou, Tis Agapis Aimata, Pou Petaxe to Agori mou, and many more.

From her childhood age, Katerina Paraschou follows the music path as a singer. She studied in Nicosia’s Music school, where she graduated as a classical singer. She participated in concerts of the Nicosia Music School with Demetris Mpasis, Haroula Alexiou, Giorgos Dalaras and Yiannis Kotsiras.

Since 2015, she participated in concerts with Giannis Markopoulos, Charalambos Gargourakis, Lakis Chalkias, Antonis Mitzelos, Michalis Hadjiyiannis, Demetris Mpasis, Giotra Negka, Kostas Makedonas, Katerina Kouka, Stelios Dionysioy, Pantelis Thalassinos, Georgia Ntagaki and Violeta Ikari. In September 2017, she took part in the music concert “Zito to Elliniko Tragoudi” with Dionysios Savvopoulos, at Skouriotissa.

In 2022, she released her first single, titled: ‘Ekdohi’, composed by Spyros Paraskevakou kai lytics by Stavros Stavrou. In April 2024, she released the single: “An einai etsi I agape”, a duet with Aggelos Tsigas, composed by Michalis Hadjiyiannis, featured in the project “Pedi diko sou, for the 20th anniversary of Eleana Vrachali.

Kyriakos Costa was born in Larnaca, Cyprus, in 1998. He graduated with First Class Honours from Royal Holloway University of London (BMus Music, MMus Comp). The past few years, Kyriakos is working professionally composing Orchestral and Theatre music. At the same time, he is a session pianist and songwriter.

As a member of various philharmonic bands in Cyprus, he participated in concerts of famous Greek singers, such as: Dionisis Savvopoulos, Vassilis Lekkas, Pantelis Thalassinos and Iro Saia. In 2019, Kyriakos participated as a pianist in two (2) voice masterclasses made by Natasa Bofiliou and Themis Karamouratides, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

In 2020, he was featured and listed as one of the ‘Young Generation Composers of CoMA Festival, London 2020’, with his piece called: ‘clockwise’. In 2021, he was one of the Composers-in-Residence, under the 5th Picture Gallery Composer-in-Residence Scheme of Royal Holloway University of London, where Kyriakos composed music for the virtual video tours of the Picture Gallery’s library.

The Autumn 2021, Kyriakos is the co-composer, along with Constantinos Lemesios, of Costas Mannouris’ musical: ‘The Duke’s Radio Show’, performed/directed by Marios Mettis (Hamm Broductions), under the parallel events of Larnaca Biennale Festival 2021. At the same time, orchestral works of his were commissioned by CHROMA Ensemble UK and are now available on all streaming platforms. The past 1 and a half years, Kyriakos is releasing personal songwriting compositions on his YouTube channel, produced by singer/songwriter/producer Constantinos Lemesios.

Andrianos Charalambous, 33, is a Political, Cultural and Sustainability Communications specialist. He currently serves as the COO of a private communications company and as a co-manager for a cultural SME. He holds a BA in Communications and an MA in Political Science and International Relations. He is currently seeking opportunities for a PhD in Political Science and Diplomacy, with a special focus on Soft Power, Cultural Diplomacy, Climate Migration and Conflict Management. He publishes regular articles in the national media.

As the child of an acting couple, Andrianos showed interest in acting at a very young age. He has consistently taken part in several small theatrical productions. He has also produced, written scenarios and acted in short films in Italy with an international film crew. Throughout his studies, he has been scrutinizing the relations between culture and politics, as he does as a journalist, most notably with “PoliticArt”, the radio show he hosted during the pandemic.

He is owned by a cat, Arya, who hosts him in Aglantzia, Nicosia.
